The Prestige

The Prestige is a semi-cooperative heist TTRPG played with two decks of playing cards. A party of expert criminals works to pull off the perfect heist  under the watchful eye of the Pit Boss. However, if any of them can assemble and sit on a royal flush, they can disappear with the loot, leaving the rest of the party with nothing.

I love the heist genre, but I've always found there was a gap between how it felt to watch, for instance, an episode of Leverage or a classic caper film and how it felt to play out a heist in TTRPG systems already out there. I wanted something that was quick to play, easy to teach, and let you plan and plot how to use your abilities based on the opportunities you were presented. I find that existing systems focus too much on flashbacks, success at a cost, and limited-use resources at the expense of timing, coordination, and the ever-gnawing threat that one of your own might pick the loot over the team.

I'm interested in releasing supplements for this game if this resonates with people, so be sure to leave not only feedback but also your ideas for what I should prioritise!
Some thoughts that I have for supplements right now are:

• Pit Boss roles (what can the PB use their cards for other than opposing player actions?)
• Written scenarios
• Legwork for heists
• Progression for longer adventures
